There are several problems with biocide sprays or solutions, such as Exit Mould, chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide and more. The main one of course is that they dont kill mould which we don’t want.
Additionally they can be toxic when inhaled and add moisture to the building materials which itself feeds mould growth.
Bleach/Exit Mould (Sodium hypochlorite) only superficially strip away the colour of mould and consumer grade products are rarely in a high enough concentration to actually kill it. None of these will work on porous materials.
Reaction Time
Algae disappears within two day’s. Moss will turn brown within a couple of day’s, and other light growth will decompose within a day. Black mould will noticeably improve within 2-3 months, however if the area is heavily contaminated, it will take 4-9 months.
Lichen requires two applications within 15 minutes of each other and will take 8-12 months to decompose in worst cases.(Please consult supplier)
